Vladimir Tomov - President

Vladimir Tomov has graduated Business Administration at the University of Mining and Geology and Financial Management at the University of National and World Economy, Bulgaria. He has MSc in Computer Engineering from the Technical University - Sofia.

Mr. Tomov has business specializations at the University of Delaware, USA and at the Consorzio Genova Ricerche, Italy. He is Certified Management Consultant (CMC) from the Institute of Management Consultancy, London, UK.

For more than 25 years he has extensive experience as a consultant and project manager of numerous EU and GTZ projects with international scope in the field of SME support, private investment projects, financial institutions and banks, capacity building of NGOs, municipalities and government authorities.

Vladimir Tomov is Member of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and President of BCCI Investment Council.  He is Managing Director of INTRAC Ltd. and Chairman of the Managing Board of EIRC Foundation.

 

Lachezar Iskrov – Vice President

Lachezar Iskrov received a PhD in Law at Leipzig University - Germany (1979). He started his career as a Research Associate at the Institute for Foreign Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has over 35 years of management experience as Partner and MD of VL Eurotrade Ltd., Austria; CEO of Aman Trading Ltd., Kyrgyzstan; Partner and MD of Escalibur – Bulgaria Ltd.; Partner and MD of Colis Land Development Ltd.; Owner and MD of Velis Consult Ltd.

He is a Member of the Executive Council of BCCI; Vice-President of the Council of Sectorial Organisations with the BCCI; Past President of the Bulgarian National Real Estate Association; Past Vice President of Friedrich Schiller” Alliance for German language and culture. He speaks fluently English, German and Russian.

 

 

Pavel Velkov - Vice President

Pavel Velkov has over 15 years of experience in the field of finance and investment. Before founding Morningside Hill in 2014 Mr. Velkov gained extensive investment experience in Europe, North America and Africa. He had positions in various investment funds with a variety of strategies covering venture capital, private equity, publicly traded shares, corporate and government bonds, companies in difficulty, special situations and convertible arbitration. Mr. Velkov has a Master's degree in Business Administration from Columbia Business School, Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Business administration from American University in Bulgaria and CFA charter.

 

 

 

Philip Genov – Member of the Council Bureau

Filip Genov is a serial entrepreneur, investor and fintech innovator with 30 years of international executive experience.

Filip has created and scaled to 2% of the GDP the first factoring company in Bulgaria as well as introduced a wide array of other financial innovations, new business lines, products and companies in the CEE markets.

As founder and CEO of CFN AD and F27 AD, he continues to lead both the product and the digital transformation of the financial industry in the Region. Through CFN AD he created the newest factoring company Bulgaria and scaled as the largest and best growing supply chain finance operator on the market. CFN AD is also the largest investment of the European Investment Bank Group in Eastern Europe with an instrument of BGN 300’000’000.

Filip is an avid investor and mentor in the venture capital community – he is a partner in the successful New Vision 3 Fund and founder of UniCredit’s venture capital operation in the CEE.

Filip is an active public speaker, co-founder of the Annual FinTech and InsureTech Summit, which is the voice and the gathering forum of the financial industry in Bulgaria. He also serves on the Board of the Cedar Foundation, which takes care of disadvantaged children and young adults.

Filip holds an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business, the London School of Economics and HEC Paris.

 

Kiril Veitchkov, PhD – Member of the Council Bureau

Kiril Veitchkov, PhD, Director of European Projects and Financial Instruments (FI) at UBB and UBB Interlease;  Manager of KBC Group European Financial Instruments Competence Centre; KBC Bulgaria Entrepreneurship development leader; chairs the Bulgarian Association of Banks European FI WG; represents UBB at KRIB European programmes committee; represents UBB Interlease at the Bulgarian Association Leasing FI WG; Member of BCCI Investment Council executive committee; represents KBC Group in the Vienna Initiative FI WG; teaches at the Sofia University „St.Kl.Ohridski“, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, AMBA certified.

Kiril has 24-year EU programmes experience in private, public and NGO sectors. He has worked at Phare and Socrates EU programmes; the Center for Study of Democracy where he was coordinator of the European programme; the Goethe Institute where he was responsible for the EU programmes within SEE. He consulted Bulgarian and foreign ministries and was an independent expert of the EC and FI consultant of the World Bank.

Kiril completed a PhD in European Financial Instruments in 2003 and has over 40 publications; many articles and interviews.

 

Ivan Zelyazkov – Member of the Council Bureau

Dipl. Eng. Ivan Zelyazkov is a Master of Science in Electrical Power Engineering from the Technical University – Sofia, as well as he has received his MSc in International Economic Relations from the University of National and World Economy. He has specialized in Banks and Banking Management in the Institute for Postgraduate Studies at the University of National and World Economy.

He is Management Board Member of the Scientific and Technical Union of Power Engineers in Bulgaria and of the International Academy of Electrical Engineering in Moscow. 

He was a Member of the Board of Directors of “TPP Maritsa East 2” EAD and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Electricity Company EAD.

He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Contact Elements AD and Member of the Board of Directors of Centralna Energoremontna Baza EAD.

 

Gabriela Dimitrova - Secretary and member of the Council Bureau

Gabriela Dimitrova has a masters degree from the University of Economics in Varna, Bulgaria. 

She has been working for the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2001.

In 2008 she becomes director of the International Relations and International organizations Directorate.

Gabriela Dimitrova has experience in European and international projects and business events.
